SPACE MANAGEMENT
Space Management provides continuing support to coordinate the University’s ongoing space management efforts and maintains the University’s space inventory, which is the official database of buildings and interior spaces.
This office is responsible for:
- Space Planning relating to departmental relocations
- Receive & Review of additional space requests
- Support the University Space Committee and Campus Planning
- Maintaining & Updating the physical space inventory in ARCHIBUS
- Audit buildings to verify accuracy of database information
- Maintain & develop floor plans for all university buildings
- Provide room numbering for all university projects
The Space Inventory database contains floor plans for all UTK buildings and includes room numbers, square footage, space use, and the department currently assigned to that space. Space Management collects accurate and up-to-date building information by conducting regular field checks, coordinating with project managers in the Construction and Design Departments, and the individual building’s fund center responsible person. Federal Agencies, the State of Tennessee, and the University’s Administration use this Space Inventory to support funding requests when determining future space needs for the University.
