About Facilities Services Information Technology

The FS IT unit creates, develops, and manages the technological backbone of the Facilities Services department.

The unit has three primary areas of responsibility: Data Management, Infrastructure, and Device Support.

Data Management

  • Archibus IWMS (Integrated Work Management System) system administration– Used to coordinate the numerous services offered by the Facilities Services department, including Work Order Management, Asset Management, Inventory Management, Space Management, Purchasing, Energy Management, Personnel and Labor Management, and Project Management
  • Data Integrations with enterprise systems such as BIM (Revit), GIS (ESRI), Document Management (OnBase), and SAP (IRIS)
  • Data Reporting, Dashboards, and Visualizations utilizing Microsoft Power BI and BIRT (Business Intelligence Reporting Tools)

Infrastructure

  • Departmental Computers and Laptops – Procurement, Setup, Upgrades, Maintenance, and Recycling/Disposal of computer equipment
  • Server and Network Management
  • Kronos Time Control System – A networked time clock system allowing in-person and remote (voice-response) time card punching
  • SCADA Systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) – Used to monitor and control HVAC controls and electrical systems throughout campus
  • Security Systems Support – Support for security recordings and video streaming of campus life and activities
  • AV Equipment Support
  • Support and coordinate the services of FS operations with other departments – including the Office of Information Technology (OIT), UT Police Department (UTPD), UT Radio Services, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)

Device Support

  • Computer Helpdesk Services
  • Communications support for mobile devices (radios, tablets, and cell phones)
  • Web Development
  • Operating System Updates
  • Software Licensing and Troubleshooting
