Ed Maples has served in the UT Facilities Services department for 40 years. Ed earned his BS in Transportation and Logistics from the University of Tennessee in 1985. During his time as a student, he worked as a Custodian in Building Services and worked his way up to a Supervisor post-graduation. In 1988, he became the Supervisor over Central Supply & Warehousing. Ed’s blood certainly runs orange as he has never missed a UT home game in more than 35 years. An avid fan of live music, Ed has also attended more than 100 concerts over the years.
The Central Supply and Warehouse Office is responsible for accomplishing material procurement and warehousing functions for the Facilities Services Department such as: material purchasing, material receipt/issuing, material quality control, and material storage and inventory control.The Central Supply Office is the central material receiving and issuing point for special order and stock replenishment purchases and maintains an inventory of commonly used stock items to support the Facilities Services Units in providing maintenance and renovation services to the campus.
