The University of Tennessee is dedicated to a clean, safe, and accessible study and work environment. In order to achieve these things, we have a Green Cleaning Program. The program began at the university in 2006 when we became the first university in the nation to be Green Seal Cleaning Certified.

The program and the practices have only grown since their inception. Because of our commitment to green cleaning, the university has been able to create a safer environment, increase recycling and zero-waste practices, and create a more sustainable method for keeping our campus clean, safe, and accessible – all the while, reducing our impact on the environment.

Keeping Your Building Green and Clean

Your building is cleaned with green cleaning products. Green cleaning products are better than comparable products for those cleaning the space, those living in the space, and the environment as a whole. You can help keep your building green and clean by:

  • Reporting spills to Building Services at 974-5107 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 974-2158 Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
  • Reporting pest issues to Sanitation Safety at 974-5107 Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 974-2158 Monday through Friday 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
  • Limiting your food consumption to break and kitchen areas for easier cleanup.
